Freshwater Village, Griffin, QLD, Australia – Wattle Run Pty Ltd is pleased and excited to announce that after months of undertaking a competitive closed tender process, we have appointed Tomkins Commercial and Industrial Builders QLD Pty Ltd to build the highly anticipated Freshwater Village. We want to extend a warm welcome to them and look forward to working closely with Tomkins.
Tomkins is a privately-owned and operated construction company that has been delivering quality building solutions since 1951. Based in Brisbane, Tomkins delivers building solutions to clients along the eastern seaboard of Australia, with expertise across sectors including commercial, education, industrial, residential, and retail. Tomkins has a strong ‘Think Safe Be Safe’ philosophy that demonstrates a commitment to those working on our project, ensuring that the project is delivered with quality and safety in mind.
Tomkins will establish its site office over the next month, preparing to commence the build of the new shopping centre: Freshwater Village. Construction of Freshwater Village would likely take approximately 18 months to build and is scheduled to open from late 2026 to early 2027.
Our vision to create country charm with city living, connecting our community with an urban farm, vast parkland, family-friendly cafes, restaurants, grocery options, specialty shops, and medical right at the community’s doorstep, is getting closer to fruition.
“Tomkins has been selected because of the builder’s experience, their attention to detail, and because of the importance they place on quality workmanship. Tomkins’ expertise will transform a vacant space into a convenient, well-built, fit-for-purpose Centre set in an attractive environment where locals will feel welcome. The builder has a genuine understanding of what Wattle Run is trying to achieve – a destination that contributes to neighbourhood life, the hub of a vibrant community. We are looking forward to working with Tomkins over the next year, as I am confident that they will convert our vision into reality. Freshwater Village – Shop, Dine, and Unwind – Your Local Choice (Jenny Fisher, Director, Freshwater Village). “
